Much of my most recent paid design work is under NDA, and I cannot share it here. To flex my creative muscles and show some more up-to-date demonstrations of my skills, I have made creatives for several hypothetical brands or organizations. This is one: Arborly, a white noise app. In this exercise, I created branding, and video and display ad content for a number of platforms. I also wrote all copy used in these creatives.
In developing branding for Arborly, I wanted to showcase how the app could bring a relaxing connection with nature into the user's everyday life. For display ad content, I focused on a juxtoposition between photos showing people going about their daily life (working, traveling, being creative) with headphones on and photos of calming natural environments, with copy highlighting what the user has to gain by downloading the app. When putting together video ad content, I wanted to capture a moment of what using the app might feel like, again connecting to the kinds of activities users might be seeking respite from (work, email, scrolling on their phones) while inviting viewers to take a moment to enjoy the app's natural white noise in the background, with text overlaid atop botanical video clips.
To focus on a calming user experience, I wanted to branding that would be easy on tired eyes, and turned to deep greens, natural imagery, and flowing text. I focused on word marks that would read clearly and look pleasing over environmental photography. See my logo explorations and the final designs below.
I created display ads in a number of common sizes (300x250, 300x600, 628x628, and 1200x628). Not all sizes are shown here, but they can be made available upon request.
The stock photos, videos, and audio samples used for these ads are all royalty-free.
